New Update

The epic story of battleship DKM Bismarck is set to unfold on Discovery with the telecast of Oscar-winning director James Cameron's deep-sea expedition on February 16 between 7 to 9 pm. Titled James Cameron's Expedition: Bismarck, the film not only presents footage of the wreckage lying upright on the North Atlantic floor but also traces the reasons for why it sank.

Funded by Discovery, Cameron has used remotely operated vehicles or ROVs to explore the interior of the battleship apart from meeting up with Bismarck's survivors (the ship apparently sank in May 1941 when the British navy launched a furious counter offensive against the Germans).

Besides, extensive archival material has been used to highlight Bismarck's significance in the German navy as well as the role it played during the Second World War.
