Pushing Daisies

Pushing Daisies is a
Golden Globe-nominated American television dramedy' (the latest buzz word for dramatic comedies) produced by Warner Brothers. The show centers on the life of Ned, a pie-maker gifted with the curious ability to bring the dead back to life by touching them. There are a couple of conditions to the talent, however. Ned quickly learns that if someone is revived for more than exactly one minute, someone else of similar life value' in the vicinity drops dead, in a form of balance. Pushing Daisies' is a rollercoaster ride of outrageous events that come about in the life of Ned once he stumbles upon his supernatural power. How's that for a breath of fresh air in a primetime replete with soap operas about family feuds, infidelity and high school romances? The show premiered in the United States in October 2007 and met with a tremendous response from the fans of its maker Bryan Fuller's other hit shows, Wonderfalls and Dead Like Me. The series follows Ned as he and his friends solve murder cases, negotiate relationships, and explore what it means to be fully alive. Their stories combine mystery, magic, dark humor, giddy romanticism, animals, technicolor landscapes, musical numbers and of course, pies.

Catch Pushing Daisies on Zee Café on Wednesdays at 10 PM.
