STAR Majha premieres 'Govinda Re Gopala'

With its unprecedented effort to provide quality programs to the viewers, India’s 24-hour National News Channel in Marathi, Star Majha will premiere ‘Govinda Re Gopala’ on Friday 12th September, 2008 @ 9.30 pm. This innovative musical satire show will educate, update and create awareness amongst the audience about the various current, social and political issues. Aptly titled “Govinda Re Gopala”, the new series is directed by the Numero Uno director of Marathi cinema - Kedar Shinde.

Lord Krishna exhibits different moods and characters known as Krishna Leela. These leelas are the mirrors of happiness, prosperity and goodwill in our society. So, the programme “GOVINDA RE GOPALA” has been derived as a mirror of goodwill, since it shows the different leelas and the real face of our decision makers and of the society at large.

STAR Majha has always endeavored to offer programmes that can be viewed by the entire family. The first episode which will be premiered on 12th September, Friday, tackles issues around the Ganesh festival. The episode will exhibit various concerns like how the size of the Ganapati idol is today merely a status symbol and the various on going wrong activities like playing cards in the mandal, playing loud irreligious music, etc.
