UTV Movies acquires rights for 60 Sahara Films

UTV Movies, the Hindi Movie Channel from the UTV Network has acquired telecast rights for 60 Sahara movies including 5 unreleased films. UTV Movies has bought the multiple airing three-year rights through a deal with Baba Arts Ltd.

The list of films include hits such as Sarkar, Guru, No Entry, Page 3, Dor and Jo Bole So Nihaal. The 5 unreleased films are EMI, Mumbai Cutting, Kaccha Limbu, Allah Ke Bande and Coffee Shop.

Says Executive Director, UTV Global Broadcasting Ltd., Shantonu Aditya, "We have signed a three-year deal with Baba Arts Ltd. to telecast the films. With these 60 movies, our movie library now has more than 400 movies.”

Launched in February 2008, UTV Movies is a logical brand extension of UTV, one of the leading movie studios in Bollywood. The channel promises to bring its viewers the latest Hindi blockbusters fastest on television alongwith exclusive access to behind the scenes footage. The channel has already premiered blockbuster movies on television like Jodhaa Akbar, Jannat, Aamir, Halla Bol, Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal and Aap Kaa Surroor. The other blockbusters coming soon on the channel include Race, A Wednesday! and Welcome to Sajjanpur.
