UTV World Movies, India’s only international movie channel dedicated to bringing the world’s greatest movies to the Indian audience, celebrates Chinese national day with a special line-up of movies from China on 1st October. The movies in this special line-up include the path-breaking action blockbuster ‘Hero’, the award-winning drama ‘Three Times’ and the romantic hit ‘The Phantom Lover’ to name a few.

At 9:30 am, tune-in to ‘The Phantom Lover’ for a romantic drama on UTV World Movies. The Phantom Lover, directed by Ronnie Yu is a remake of the 1937 film ‘Song at Midnight’. The main theme of the film is a strong adaptation of the movie ‘Phantom of the Opera’. In 1936 China, a nearly bankrupt drama troupe starts performing in a burned-out theater where the great actor Song Danping was killed. One of the actors starts seeing strange apparitions that could revive his troupe and deliver him to the same fate as Song Danping.
At 11:45 am, get ready for ‘Guns of Dragon’, a Cantonese action on UTV World Movies. An action thriller that tells a tale of vengeance and excellent martial arts fight scenes. A righteous undercover cop resigns to a safe and simple life. A simple vacation in New York turns into a horrid nightmare when the ex-cop's identity is disclosed.
At 01:45 pm, watch out for ‘Satin Steel’, a Cantonese action on UTV World Movies. An action movie that tells a tale of vengeance and excellent martial arts fight scenes. Hong Kong tough-girl buddy cops pair up for a no-holds-barred mission to Singapore. One, the precinct maverick, is fueled by the violent rages of bereavement, having been widowed by a murderer.
At 03:45 pm, tune-in to ‘Hero’, the first foreign language film that opened at #1 at the US box office on UTV World Movies. Starring Jet Li, Hero is the most expensive Chinese movie till date. In ancient China, before the reign of the first emperor, warring factions throughout the Six Kingdoms plot to assassinate the most powerful ruler, Qin. When a minor official defeats Qin's three principal enemies, he is summoned to the palace to tell Qin the story of his surprising victory.
At 06:00 pm, ‘Three Times’, a Chinese drama only on UTV World Movies. Three stories set in three times, 1911, 1966 and 2005 where two actors play the main characters in each story. But with changing times the style also changes.
