SaharaOne Television’s popular show Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki has successfully entertained its viewers for more than 850 episodes. Its lead protagonist Reena Kapoor had become a household name with her character of "Rani & Pari" as the ideal daughter, wife and mother. The huge initial success and the subsequent continued patronage of the largely female audience has been instrumental in changing the fortunes of the show and in building Reena Kapoor’s position strong amidst the plethora of “on-screen Bahus” from across the history of Indian television. Her innocence, beauty and naivety have touched the heart of every Indian audience. And now after a short sabbatical Reena Kapoor is back as the new Rani, replacing Neha Janpandit, who was essaying the role of Rani.

After Reena’s exit from the daily soap Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki, the loyal audience of the show who had so long accompanied Rani and Pari in their journey full of ups and down and had laughed and cried with them, complained that they missed their favourite Reena, and requested to get her back on the show. Since the audience decides the fate of daily serials so their constant feedback had to be considered by the channel and the production house. Therefore by audience appeal Reena Kapoor was brought back into the show.

Elucidating her comeback to Woh Rehne Waali… Reena, commented, “The platform of Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki is irreplaceable in my life. This is where I began my eventful journey as an actor and it gives me immense pleasure to return to this show after a brief hiatus. I am enthralled by the love and admiration my fans have shown towards Rani and Parii in the past and am confident of their support on my return.”

According to the present storyline of the show, after Pari passes away Rani grows up watching this world and her choti si duniya with Pari’s eyes…she becomes a doctor, a smart, lovable, jolly city girl who is ready to bounce back with whatever she does not like to take…and she has a strong sense of responsibility and in built sanskar and values which Pari has imbibed in her…hence she will not go wrong in any given situation…that’s the confidence she has. But Rani’s happy world gets threatened by her past when she comes to know that she has to marry a stranger & live with his three brothers because her late parents had fixed her marriage to him when she was a toddler. Just like her mother Pari, a new journey of challenge & struggles beckons Rani. Rani takes up this challenge and after much humiliation and obstacle wins over the love of her husband Rishabh.
