BIG TV, India’s fastest growing fully digital DTH service will be showcasing the recently released Abhay Deol starrer Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! on December 22nd, 2008 on its Pay-per-View (PPV) channel. The telecast of the movie will begin at midnight of Dec. 21st and continue as back-to-back shows for an entire month. BIG TV has the rights to telecast the movie everyday for an entire month.

An entire family can view the film on BIG TV at a nominal price of Rs. 100/- as opposed to the per head cost of Rs. 200/- they would have to pay in a multiplex. BIG TV consumers will have access to the film from the time they subscribe through till midnight and can watch every show telecast till mid-night.

“The emerging DTH sector is opening new revenue opportunities for film-makers. Over the last few years, the satellite rights have emerged as a key revenue generator. Going forward, new media like mobile content, gaming etc…; and DTH pay-per-view will be key streams for film makers to generate revenues. We are in discussions with a lot of producers for DTH rights and are also exploring the option of exclusive DTH rights with some of the producers,” said Mr. Mahesh Prasad, President – BIG TV DTH.

BIG TV is launching a SMS campaign amongst its subscribers to promote the telecast of the film. The campaign will be executed in three phases across the month and in each phase there will be exciting prizes to be won.
