NDTV Lumiere wins big at the 7th Pune International Film Festival

NDTV Lumière’s, Tulpan, Caramel and The Class were major showstopper in the recently held 7th Pune International Film Festival (PIFF) as they went on to win an array of momentous awards.

Out of the 109 films from 30 countries in the World Competition category, three of NDTV Lumière movies were highly appreciated by the Jury. Directed by Sergey Dvortsevoy, the film Tulpan won two awards, The Prabhat Best International Director Award and the Best International Actor (Male) for an astounding performance by Askhat Kuchinchirekov. Screened in Indian multiplexes few months ago, Nadini Labaki was awarded The Best International Actor (Female) for her film Caramel. The award fiesta continued with a Special Jury Mention for Laurent Cantent directed master piece, The Class, which is also nominated for the present OSCARS.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sunil Doshi, Director NDTV Lumiere said,” Within the last year, NDTV Lumiere films have won more than 25 to 30 awards in India alone at various film festivals. This is very heartening and re-affirms our hand picked collection of the new World Cinema titles which we are bringing for people in India to watch."

The Pune International Film Festival is a landmark in the history of International Cinema and has always been in pursuit of bringing the “best in celluloid” to the audiences from around the world. Launched in 2002, PIIF has evolved as a major annual event in India.
