Ira Dubey and Neha Sareen, the Hollywood film critics on “Chicks on Flicks”, in their inimitable style will guide viewers and give their take on the latest Hollywood movie releases this Friday, May 22, 2009 at 6.30pm on PIX-the premium English movie channel from Multi Screen Media Pvt Ltd.
This week Ira and Neha share their impressions and verdicts on the latest Hollywood movies released in India: Doomsday and Asterix and the Vikings and the latest DVD release: The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor and The Colours of Lies (French). In addition, they will discuss and debate each film's merits and shortcomings. They will give a well-rounded critique of the movies and at the end of each film review, they will guide viewers on whether to “Catch it” or “Trash it”.

Doomsday is a story based in Great Britain, 2007. A deadly plague, known as the "Reaper Virus", has broken out, killing hundreds of thousands in its wake. In desperation, the British Government evacuates as many survivors as it can out of the infected area, and then builds a wall, preventing the remainder from escaping. Thirty years later, with the wall still up and the victims all but forgotten, the virus breaks out again. The Government decides to send a crack team of operatives, led by Major Eden Sinclair, into the hot zone to investigate the possibility of a cure.
Asterix and the Vikings is an animated movie about the chief of the Vikings Timandahaf who misunderstands the explanation of his advisor Cryptograf that "fear gives wings to the dwellers" and believes that fear actually makes the villagers fly and decides to chase the champion of fear in Gaul to learn how to fly and make the villagers invincible warriors. In the end Asterix realizes that it is not fear that gives wings, it is love.
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (DVD): It's 1946 and Jack and Evie are now retired. They did a bit of espionage during World War II but have decided it's now the easy life for them. The only problem is that they are now quite bored so they jump at the chance to deliver a precious gem which the UK government is returning to China. Evie's brother Jonathan is now running a nightclub in Shanghai and they are surprised to also find their son Alex who is supposed to be at university but has on an archaeological dig with an old friend, Professor Roger Wilson. They soon find themselves involved in intrigue as a corrupt Chinese General needs the gem to resurrect Emperor Han and his army who have been dead for thousands of years
The Colours of Lies (DVD) is a French movie about a small Breton town, where a 10-year-old girl is found murdered. René, her art teacher, a professional painter, is the last person to have seen her alive. The inspector in charge of the investigation immediately questions him. In this small provincial town where people all know each other and regularly meet at the Bar des Amis, René is increasingly unsettled by the other inhabitants' suspicions and by the inspector's investigation. Children stop coming to him for lessons. His wife, Viviane, a district nurse, protects him and supports him with her love.
