Slumdog Millionaire, the biggest blockbuster of the year is all set to air this June exclusively on PIX -the premium English movie channel from Multi Screen Media Pvt Ltd formerly known as Sony Entertainment Network. Set and filmed in India, the emotional movie tells the story of a young man Jamal Malik from the slums of Mumbai who appears on the Indian version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? He exceeds people's expectations, thereby arousing the suspicions of the game show host and of law enforcement officials.

Directed by British filmmaker and producer Danny Boyle who is well known for his work on films such as Shallow Grave, Trainspotting, 28 Days Later and now, Slumdog Millionaire. Co-directed in India by Loveleen Tandon, the movie features an array of stars from the likes of Anil Kapoor, Irfan Khan, Saurabh Sukhla, Dev Patel and Frieda Pinto among others. Slumdog Millionaire won 8 Oscars, 11 BAFTA Awards and 4 Golden Globe Awards. In an exclusive deal with Fox Star India, Sony Networks acquired the rights of the movie, to be premiered in India. The Hindi version, Slumdog Crorepati was also released in India along with the original version of the film. Originally titled Slumdog Millionaire - Kaun Banega Crorepati, the name was shortened for legal reasons.
