STAR Plus salutes the perseverance & the will of people who move away from their home and hearth to fulfill their dreams and aspirations of their family. "Tere Mere Sapne" depicts the journey of one such migrant who has stepped into a challenging new world, and how he endeavors to come to terms with a new life and milieu. Henko Stain Champion presents ‘Tere Mere Sapne’ will air every Monday to Friday from November 4 @ 8:30pm, on STAR Plus.
Set against the backdrop of a remote village in North India, Tere Mere Sapne portrays the journey of Sarju (Saurabh Pandey), who is caught in a difficult situation, restless, yet unafraid of exploring new terrain. Saddled with heavy family debts, he leaves his village to make a living in a city away from his family and the life familiar to him. His wife, Radha (Ekta Tiwari) tends to their home while he journeys far to make a decent living for all of them.
Through the protagonist Sarju’s journey, Tere Mere Sapne will explore the dynamics of displacement, the pain of separation, the emotional turmoil of being a migrant looking for work in an unfamiliar place. Above all, however, the story is about the acceptance of change. Migrating into a bigger city will re-mould Sarju’s character, reconstruct his life and redefine the person in him… at times joyously so… at times painfully.
Commenting on the launch, Keertan Adhyanthaya, GM & EVP, STAR Plus, said "Indian viewers want real stories with easily identifiable characters. The viewer wants a slice from their own lives and Tere Mere Sapne’s gripping concept and simple yet insightful narration will surely capture their attention and brings forth a topic that has never been explored on Indian television. Conceived by the creative team of STAR Plus, it is produced by Sunjoy Wadhwa’s Sphere Origins. It captures the real emotions of life - the joys, the celebrations and sorrows of a family that straddles between two India’s – the India of villages and the India of metros."
Will Sarju be able to surpass all obstacles and earn a good living in an unknown land or will his rural beliefs act as an impediment for his survival? Will Sarju’s departure from his soil and family result in him losing his naïve rural innocence and setting new and different standards in his life?
Be a part of this saga that highlights the thought ‘Apnon Ke Liye, Apnon Se Duur’ and relates the story of a man struggling to strike a harmonious cord with his present and a difficult past in search of a better future.
So mark your diaries, get a taste of an emotion filled, real story with Henko Stain Champion ‘Tere Mere Sapne’, from November 4, 2009, every Monday-Friday at 8:30 pm, only on STAR Plus.
