To live up to its promise, the channel brings to you Nikhil Advani, a veteran director from the bollywood industry . UTV World Movies gives you this splendid opportunity to view four of Nikhil Advani’s favorite international movies every Thursday at 8.30 pm.
Nikhil Advani started his career as an Assistant director, with Sudhir Mishra's Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin (1996), for which he also co-wrote the screenplay. Subsequently, he worked under Dharma Productions which was the production house of the late Yash Johar, father of Karan Johar. He assisted Karan Johar in his two directorial projects, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. He then went on to direct his first film under Dharma Productions, titled Kal Ho Naa Ho starring Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, Saif Ali Khanand Jaya Bachchan. The film was the second biggest hit of 2003 and firmly established him as a director. The film won six Filmfare awards, but lost out on the best director award. Nikhil Advani is currently working on the film Patiala House starring Akshay Kumar and Anushka Sharma.

Movies chosen by Nikhil Advani for the on-air property 50 Movies Before you Die are The Fifth Element (English, 1997), Sonatine (Japanese, 1993) Invisible Waves(Thai/English/Japanese/Korean, 2006), Drifting Clouds(Finnish, 1996), Twice upon a Time( French, 2006).
