Ira Dubey and Neha Sareen, the popular Hollywood movie critics from PIX–the premium English movie channel from Multi Screen Media Pvt Ltd, give their take on the latest movie releases on ‘Chicks on Flicks’ this Friday, December 25, 8.30 pm on PIX.
The ace movie critics review ‘Avatar’, the most awaited Hollywood movie of the year, made on a budget of more than $200 million and directed by the inimitable James Cameron. Avatar, is an American 3-D science fiction epic film and focuses on an epic conflict on Pandora where human colonists and the sentient humanoid Na'vi tribe, engage in a war over the planet's resources. The film is being touted as a breakthrough in terms of filmmaking technology, for its development of 3D viewing. The cast includes Sam Worthington, in the lead with Sigourney Weaver and Michelle Rodriguez amongst others.
Ira and Neha give their take on the latest DVD release, the drama, ‘THE SOLOIST’, directed by Joe Wright, starring Jamie Foxx and Robert Downey Jr. The Soloist is based on the true story of Nathaniel Ayers (Jamie Foxx), a musical prodigy who develops schizophrenia during his second year at Juilliard School. Ayers becomes homeless and plays a 2 two stringed violin in the streets of downtown Los Angeles.
The duo then review the DVD of the American comedy drama film, ‘FUNNY PEOPLE’ written, co-produced, and directed by Judd Apatow, and starring Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen as stand-up comedians. George is a very successful stand up comedian who learns that he has an untreatable blood disorder and is given less than a year to live. Ira is a struggling up-and-coming stand up comedian who works at a deli and has yet to figure out his onstage persona. One night, these two perform at the same club and George takes notice of Ira. George hires Ira to be his semi-personal assistant as well as his friend.
‘I LOVE YOU MAN’ directed by John Hamburg, starring John Hamburg, Rashida Jones is the next DVD release that Ira and Neha will review. Peter Klaven's world revolves around his real estate work and Zooey, his soon-to-be fiancée. After he pops the question, s they go into wedding planning mode but Peter has no male friends and it poses problems. Wt an open house Peter hosts, he meets Sydney, they trade business cards, and Peter calls him to meet for drinks. A friendship develops that's great at first but then threatens Peter's engagement and career. Can guys be friends and couples be in love?
