The last week of December saw 94.3 Radio One listeners winning prizes ranging from cameras to pen drives, Bluetooth headsets, shopping vouchers, movie DVDs, food vouchers and passes for the most happening and biggest New Years Eve party in the country.
Said Rishi Kishnani, Programming Director for Mumbai, "We, at Radio One, have changed the way music is heard and consumed by the listeners - a song is judged by how good it is and not how new or old it is. We believe it’s better to play a good classic song rather than a bad new one. We also realized that listeners were bored of hearing the same songs over and over again. So we decided not to repeat any song throughout the day. Along with this new proposition we also treated our listeners with loads of contests through the week. We made sure that we played interesting music based contests and gave away Radio One goodie bags and maintained the Maximum Music, Maximum Choice proposition. We received an average of 18000 sms’s per day with the count going upto 21000, which is a record of sorts implying strong listeners vote of confidence This just proves that it’s not what you give, it’s how you give. We, at Radio One, would continue to engage with and reward our listeners with the best of music, at its maximum thus giving them maximum choice."
"We are euphoric at the response the new proposition of ‘Maximum Music, Maximum Choice’ has generated since the time it has been rolled out. The positive feedback received from our listeners is overwhelming and this will only encourage us to deliver more effectively and efficiently on our promise of bringing a unique musical experience to our listeners." said Bavesh Janavlekar, Mumbai Station Head, Radio One.
