IBN-Lokmat has bagged six prestigious awards

IBN-Lokmat stole the show at The Maharashtra Times Sanman awards on Saturday evening as it bagged six most popular awards.

Being the only Marathi news channel to win the prestigious awards, IBN- Lokmat has certainly set an elevated benchmark in the media industry. The awards include Best show for Salam Maharashtra, Best political show forJanatecha Jaahir Nama and the Best Youth show for Tech Guru.

Popular anchors of the news channel, Renuka Ramchandran was awarded the Best news anchor female for Maharashtra Nama and Vasundhara Kashikar was awarded the Best anchor for Salam Maharashtra. Amol Parchure was bestowed upon the Best anchor male award for Natak Bitak.

The Editor-in-Chief of IBN Network Rajdeep Sardesai expressing his joy said, "I’m really proud of IBN-Lokmat team. The channel is less than two years old but is already known as the voice of Maharashtra."

He shared his dream to make IBN available in every Indian language. He further said, "IBN-Lokmat does not sensationalise and it is not alarmist, yet people like the channel. This proves that good TV can survive even in crazy times."

The Marathi news channel has come a long way in a short span of time as it has shot to popularity with well-liked flagship programmes to name a few'Aajcha Sawal', ‘Great Bhet’.

Salam Maharashtra that won one of the awards is a breakfast show with variety of content ranging from the regular news headlines to stories on culture, music, literature, film, theatre, business, economy, social issues, environment etc. Janatecha Jaahir Nama, an election special programme was a hit amongst the masses that won the best political show award.

Tech Guru winning the Maharashtra Times Sanman award, across all other forms of popular entertainment in the non-fiction space reflects the young tech-savvy generation.
