94.3 Radio One has been awarded the "Gold" for the best public service campaign award on April 3rd at the PRCI Corporate Collateral Awards 2010 held in Delhi. The award was received by Mr. Vineet Singh Hukmani, Managing Director, Radio One at the function held at the Indian Habitat Centre conducted under the aegis of Mr. Manishankar Aiyar, Advisor to the Bureau of Parliamentary Studies & Training, Former Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Joginder Singh ex director of CBI amongst other key dignitaries.
The awards are an important initiative of Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) for the first time were conducted with a global view at the meet in Delhi. The PRCI Corporate Collateral Awards, are given to recognize the outstanding contributions made by corporate and other institutions to the corporate world and to society at large. Amongst this years big winners were Coca Cola, Mahindra & Mahindra, Kingfisher and IDBI bank.
94.3 Radio One is the only media company to win an award at the Corporate Collateral Awards this year and that too a GOLD. There were over 100 entries from all over India under various categories- including the public sector, private enterprises including multinationals for this year's Corporate Collateral Awards.
Speaking on the joyous occasion of winning the award, Mr. Shyju Varkey, National Marketing Head, 94.3 Radio One said "We are extremely happy about winning this award. 'Lets Pool' our car pooling initiative for which we won the GOLD is a powerful initiative by the very nature of its sheer simplicity toward addressing the critical problem of traffic congestion in a city like Bangalore. The least one can do when involved with a powerful medium like radio, is to show the way and disseminate effective solutions. We are very pleased that our efforts have been recognized and have been chosen for the gold in this category."
