ESPN STAR Sports, Asia's number one sports broadcaster, & ICC's global Broadcast & Production Partner, today announced a marketing tie-up with Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, India's Numero Uno production company for the movie 'Housefull' for the forthcoming ICC World Twenty20 to be held in West Indies from April 30 - May 16, 2010. This is the third time after 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi' & 'Heyy Babyy' that ESPN STAR Sports & Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment has joined hands together. The release date of Housefull also happens to coincide with the launch date of the ICC World Twenty20 – April 30.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Nirmal Dayani, Senior Director, Marketing, ESPN Software India Pvt. Ltd. said, "We are launching a high decibel marketing campaign along with ICC to promote the ICC World Twenty20. The new campaign gives expression to the core emotion of a Cricket fan associated with any ICC tourney - the engagement is higher as passion hits the roof when the Indian team hits the park. The campaign's theme line - 'Josh Badega jab world cup mein desh ladega' aptly elucidates this."
Speaking on the tie-up, producer Sajid Nadiadwala, said, "Bollywood and Cricket are the two biggest passions of India. There cannot be a better marketing tie-up than being associated with the ICC World Twenty20. The entire star cast of Housefull is proud to support the Indian Cricket team and wish them all the success for this prestigious event."
Actor Akshay Kumar, commented, "I am honored to be able to show our support for the Indian cricket team. I really do hope that our team wins the trophy again this time. I am looking forward to the action with my family & friends. I have personally always been into sports in a big way and so a tie-up of my 2 passions, sports and films, is something that interests and excites me. With world's best teams competing, it's time again for the Indian team to show the world who is the best."
Actress Lara Dutta, added, "I remember the first T20 World cup. The streets went empty during the finale; I hope we have a repeat this year with just one exception. That is, we get Housefull audiences at Cinemas to catch my latest movie while the rest enjoy India's exploits at the world cup.""
Actor Riteish Deskhmukh, said, "Sehwag and Yusuf to me are the biggest hitters in the world. It will fun if both of them strike together. I really think we have a good chance of doing well this year. As a proud Indian, I am hopeful that our nation's pride, our team will win the trophy for us."
Arjun Rampal, added, "I'm fascinated with the T20 concept. It has changed the game so much. You are never sure which side will actually win. The heart beats faster when the Indian team is there on the field. You only want the Indian team to win come what may. A victory is never a guarantee but we are the first champions, I wish our team to be champions again."
Sajid Khan, said, "It's an unbelievable honor to actually hold the T20 World Cup which belonged to us in 2007. Hopefully again in 2010!!! Come on India!"
