Four years after its birth, ETC Bollywood Business, the film industry's most respected trade show, is all set to move into its new avatar! The trade show which aired previews, reviews, BO collections, celebrity chats, will now don a new format and a new host in the person of Komal Nahta. While Mondays will be about Box Office collections of the films released the previous Friday, Tuesdays and Wednesdays will air feature stories and debates with who's-who of the Indian film industry. Thursdays will be for the previews of the movies to be released the next day, while on Friday Komal Nahta will review the films that have released earlier in the day. Taking a leaf out of the original, the new ETC Bollywood Business will continue with industry chats on all days.
"Since its inception, ETC Bollywood Business has steadily turned into the most trusted and respected trade show of the Indian film industry. And now is the time to take our commitment to the Indian Film Industry to the next level. Hence, we have decided to change the format of the show. The entertainment industry is today pegged at Rs. 4000 crores and growing at a tremendous pace. Behind the glamour of our movies lays a very serious business. It is time that we educate our viewers about the same. The hard work of the creative, technical and the business associates of the industry must be brought to the fore. That is our endeavor." said Mr. Anurag Bedi, Business Head, ETC.
The film industry too, was thrilled about the latest development.
Said Aamir Khan, "Komal Nahta is one of the most solid trade analysts we have in the Indian film business. He has an outstanding understanding and knowledge of the film trade. He is the guy I call when I want figures. More often than not, he is right about his predictions. When your film doesn't do well, he appears like Yamraj, and he is like your guardian angel when it's a hit."
"Komal Nahta – The Larry King of Indian TV Cinema – clear thinking, incisive and tell-it-like-it-is style." commented Ronnie Screwvala, CEO and Founder-Chairman, UTV Group.
"Komal is so honest and so analytical in his film reviews that it's a pleasure to read them. The best part is that he understands the creative side of filmmaking just as well as he does the commercial side," said Rakesh Roshan.
Speaking about his association with ETC, Mr. Komal Natha said, "It is an exciting proposition for me. I truly believe that the audience must be made aware of the business of entertainment. They must be educated to judge a film on its merits – creatively and commercially. It is an alignment of similar beliefs."
The new ETC Bollywood Business will start airing from Monday, 26th April at 8:30pm on channel ETC.
