Zee Cinema: The next BIG destination for talented short film-makers

In a move that re-establishes its position as the constantly innovating pioneer amongst the Hindi movie channels, Zee Cinema has partnered with International Cultural Exchange (ICE), a Pune-based non-profit organization to present the 5th chapter of their ICE Digital Short Film Festival. The fest is designed to help some of the finest short films made by talented, budding film-makers in India find an audience. Zee Cinema will select 3 outstanding films from amongst the 30 short films screened at the fest and showcase them on the channel in a special, dedicated slot in coming months. The films, additionally, will also be played on Zee Premier.

Zee Cinema, as the leading Hindi movie channel of India, is now keen to present talented film-makers from across the country with a chance to showcase their finest work on national television. In our endeavor to give the most deserving filmmakers a chance, we have partnered with ICE as we have great regard for the sheer quality of cinema their fests have thrown up over the last 4 years."

The fest spanning over 3 days starts on 20th May. The screenings held at S. M. Joshi Foundation, Pune between 6 and 9 PM are free of charge and open to general audience. The 30 short films that will be screened at the fest touch upon a wide array of subjects ranging from table manners to the frenzy of Mumbai locals to abortion to the insecurities faced by the father of a beautiful 16 year old to the current craze of Facebook.

Mr. Samar Nakhate, Festival Director, ICE said, "We're extremely fortunate that we have the support of Zee Cinema in presenting some of the best short films made in India to the audience in Pune at ICE.
