Now all short filmmakers have a chance to let their creative juices flow, make their mark as filmmakers and share their vision with a nationwide audience. Wodka Gorbatschow the premium vodka brand promoted by Allied Blenders and Distillers, has announced the launch of 'Gorbatschow Pure Shots - A short film contest" in association with 1takemedia.com. Pure Shots is a contest where film students and amateur film makers stand a chance to win a once in a lifetime opportunity to be a part of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival!
Based on the brand's ad campaign 'Whoever You Are, Be Pure,' Gorbatschow Pure Shots will open doors for first time directors to showcase their creativity to a large audience. The Contest opens on 1st December for entries. Participants can send in their interpretations of purity through their videos which will then be judged by a panel of celebrity judges comprising of veterans from the industry including Shyam Benegal, Mahesh Bhatt, Sudhir Mishra, Prahlad Kakkar, Nagesh Kukunoor and Gul Panang.
The winner of the Gorbatschow Pure Shots contest will win a chance to attend the celebrated Cannes Film Festival 2011, while the consolation prizes include winning a professional Camera. That's not all! There is a special jury award where the winner will get a chance to work with Mr. Mahesh Bhatt on a short film. 12 deserving contestants will also stand a chance to win consolation cash prizes.

The entries have to be sent to 1takemedia as per the details in terms & conditions available on www.wgpureshots.com. The jury will then nominate 15 best videos judging the entries on creativity, use of technique and the effective way of using this medium to convey the creative thought as per the given brief. These nominated videos will then be available on the Wodka Gorbatschow site (www.wgpureshots.com) for public voting. The film maker who gets the maximum votes will win the trip to Cannes film festival, while the winner of the jury award will get a chance to make a short film under Mr. Mahesh Bhatt.
To participate in the WG Pure Shots campaign budding filmmakers have to follow three simple steps:
Step 1 - Log on to www.wgpureshots.com, understand the brief and download the entry form.
Step 2 - Make an original short film which does not exceed 2 mins capturing their own interpretation of Whoever You Are, Be Pure.
