Commemorating the birth centenary of renowned Urdu poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Theater Wala's Productions in association with Acme presents 'Mujhse pehli si mohabbat mere mehboob na maang' - a play on the life of Pakistani poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz.

Written and directed by Ramji Bali, an alumnus of the National School of Drama, the play highlights a period of significant struggle for the poet, whose rebellious verses, ironically, were about peace.

Faiz Ahmed Faiz was a renowned Pakistani poet, and one of the most famous poets of the Urdu language. He was the first Asian poet to receive the Lenin Peace Prize, awarded by the Soviet Union in 1963. He was blessed with outstanding talent of writing poems (Nazams). Faiz Sahab died in 1984 but left indelible marks on the history of urdu literature.

The play is scheduled to be held on Sunday March 13, 2011 at 6:30 PM at the 'Theatre Festival' at Ansari Auditorium, Jamia Millia Islamia University, Delhi.
