Directed by renowned director Ravi Garani, Krishna Rukmini, the new serial on Suvarna, will go on air from May 2nd at 7 pm during weekdays.

The serial is about a love story of two people who are together for all the wrong reasons. A boy who doesn't understand the meaning of love but desires to acquire whatever he sets a liking for, and a girl who is helpless and can save herself and her family by giving into his demands.

Ravi Garani, who has directed popular serials in the past like Kavyanjali, Kathe & Kasturi, is known for presenting family entertainers with a gripping narration. Shot in and around the historic city of Mysore, the serial will have Mandya dialect is an integral part of the story.

"The crux of the serial is two extremes meeting, an uneducated brat madly falling in love with a simple, well educated girl" Garani says.

The serial also goes on record as first Kannada serial to be shot in train extensively.

"Novelty has been a key differentiator at Suvarna. Catering to different tastes and meeting the expectations of its viewers' makes Suvarna a strong family entertainment channel. Krishna Rukmini is an extension of the same thought" says Anup Chandrashekharan, Business Head, Suvarna.

Suvarna stands for fresh and differentiated programming in Kannada. A family entertainment channel that has a line up of popular programs including Pyate Hudigir Halli Lifu 2, Lakumi, Guru Raghavendra Vaibhava, Classmates, Maja with Sruja, Preethiyinda, Bombat Bhojana, Bhavya Brahmanda and Pranathi.

Krishna Rukmini will be telecast from 2nd May, at 7pm during weekday.
