Continuing the journey of 94.3 Radio One that began with “One Delhi One Music” musical movement and initiative, Radio One was back with a Punjabi twist of Gurdas Maan performing live in concert for Delhi music lovers at Siri Fort Auditorium on June 4, 2011. Gurdas Maan, known to be the legend of Punjabi Folk music and Bhangra wooed the audience with his versatility. His rendition ranging from the foot tapping bhangra to the serenading Punjab folk songs was indeed a musical delight for Delhi.

94.3 Radio One “One India One Music” was initiated as a musical movement to bring multi-genre music to one common platform. While the first concert left the audience fixated to the suave melodies of Mohit Chauhan, the upbeat Punjabi music in the second concert not only serenaded the audience with its earthy melody but also made them dance to its punjabi beat. Catering to such diverse tastes, Radio One has re-established the very idea behind the musical initiative - ‘One Delhi One Music’.

Speaking on “One Delhi One Music”, Gurdas Maan said, “It is a great step taken by Radio One to bring to table those genres of music which are not promoted as much. Music is understood irrespective of the language that we speak. Apart from helping artists to build a connect with their audience. This initiative will also cater to diverse music taste that our audience have. It is a pleasure to be a part of such an initiative.”

One Delhi One Music – On ground initiative

With the huge success of “Radio One – One Delhi One Music” on air, the music channel had taken the property on ground in the month of Jan 2011. Radio One is now furthering the baton of music by making this as a monthly event for the music lovers of the city who do not get to witness good live musical performances quite often. This has come as a result of the continuous efforts and endeavors by the radio channel to promote different forms of music and musicians. These on ground activity/concert would also include events of mass reach and promotion like Shankar, Ehsaan & Loy, Ghulam ali etc.
