STAR Pravah presents 48th Maharashtra Rajya Marathi Chitrapat Puraskar 2011

Gear up for the biggest and the most spectacular Marathi movie awards for the first time ever on STAR Pravah. The 48th Rajya Marathi Chitrapat Puraskar Vitaran Sohala honours the biggest names of Marathi cinema and promises some stunning performances.

Sunil Barve and Mrunal Kulkarni along with Tushar Dalvi and Priya Bapat played the perfect hosts for the evening. The awards night witnessed some dazzling performances from Deepali Sayyed, Bhargavi Chirmule, Mansi Naik and Aditi Sarangdhar as they grooved to some of the most popular numbers. The veterans were not left behind as Varsha Usgaonkar left the audiences spell bound with her flawless ‘latpat latpat’ act and Resham Tipnis had the audiences cheering for her . Madhura Velankar and Paddy did ‘Hil Pori Hila’ while Sonali Kulkarni Jr. grooved to the chartbuster song ‘Disla ga Bai Disla’. The musical trio of Swapnil Bandhodkar and Bela Shende lent their soulful voices to old Marathi classics and the current chartbusters like Vajele ki 12 and Pari Mhanu. Makarand Anaspure had the audiences in split with his mono act.

The 48th Maharashtra Rajya Marathi Chitrapat Puraskar Vitaran Sohala honoured some of the stalwarts for their valuable contributions to Marathi cinema. While Shabana Azmi was bestowed with a special honour for her contribution to Marathi cinema, noted film director Jabbar Patel was presented with the V Shantaram Lifetime Achievement Award. Director and Cinematographer Govind Nihalani bagged the Raj Kapoor Lifetime Achievement Award. Producer Smita Talvalkar was awarded the V Shantaram Special Contribution award. Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar presented the awards to the awardees.
