This Independence day all roads are leading to freedom as Radio Mantra is taking its listeners on a memorable trip from Agra to Wagah border. To celebrate the spirit of friendship, Rakhi and freedom all through the month Mantra has packaged a special treat for its audience.
Mantra has already asked its listeners across stations to send rakhi's for the jawan's protecting us on our borders.
Similarly, harmony and peace messages were invited on the occasion of Friendship Day for the friends out there who are ready to take a bullet for us. The rakhi's and the messages will be presented to the CISF soldiers on 15th of August as a token of love and gratitude.
Talking about the initiative Kanwar Sameer, National Programming Head, Radio Mantra said, "It's a perfect occasion to take a 2 day road trip down to Wagah border and AIR the nostalgia.. I think it's one of it's kind initiative where the listeners as well as Radio Mantra will experience something out of the box, which is going to be cherished forever."
On 14th of morning, team Mantra will set off from Taj Mahal, Agra and will hit the highway for a two day journey that will culminate at the Wagah border. On the way the team will pass through the states they are stationed at i.e Agra, Delhi, Karnal, Jalandhar; broadcasting the travelogue live. The aim is to take the listeners down the streets that has been long forgotten and spread awareness about the landmarks and history related to freedom fight. The struggle and sacrifice that seems to be taken for granted now.
Explaining further Kanwar Sameer says, "Idea is to visit the places and people that played a significant role in freedom fight and give listeners a live account. For instance not many know that Agra was once the capital of India during the Lodhi period and has witnessed years of struggle. "Friendship Se Freedom Tak" is a programming initiative that will celebrate the spirit of love, peace, friendship and joy. I believe nothing can be a better expression of freedom than traveling across borders and sharing the experience with people!"
On the way, Mantra will stop over at the heritage sites that played a significant role in the freedom struggle, meet the family of famous freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh and Udham Singh. The journey will culminate at Wagah border with the broadcasting of the flag-down ceremony. Mantra in association with Flag Foundation of India will also educate people about the National Flag through the quiz contest called "Tirangey Ko Salaam"on 14th and 15th of August and take home int resting goodies bag. The two day trip will be broadcasted live, listeners can stay tuned for the details and the latest updates.
