Kannadada Kotyadhipathi which was launched on March 12, 2012 on Suvarna Channel opened with a 7.0 TVR (Source – TAM) in the Karnataka market in its first week which is better than the latest version of Kaun Banega Crorepati which opened at 4.5 TVR (Source: TAM) in its first week in the HSM market.
Kannadada Kotyadhipathi the show which is based on the international format "who wants to be millionaire" is hosted by the face of Kannada cinema – youth icon and power star- Puneeth Rajkumar who comes from the first family of Kannada cinema.
The show Kannadada Kotyadhipathi in its initial week also became the No 1 show in Karnataka.
Anup Chandrashekaran, business head at Suvarna Channel said, "We are very happy with the initial response of Kannadada Kotyadhipathi, we have got a lot of positive feedback about the show from our viewers. This show is also made us the leader in Week day Prime Time. We hope we are able to sustain the initial ratings."
On its comparison with Hindi KBC he says, "it is not correct to compare the 2 shows in terms of ratings as they belong to different markets, KBC is analyzed in the Hindi Speaking Markets (HSM) and Kotyadhipathi is analyzed in the Karnataka Market."
Kannadada Kotyadhipathi the show is meant for the common Kannadiga, this is the biggest reality show on Kannada Television offering the biggest prize money of Rs 10,000,000 (Rupees one crore) in the Kannada GEC space. The format and the rules for this show are same as the first edition of Kaun Banega Crorepati. This show is produced by the same production house as KBC – Big Synergy.
Kannadada Kotyadhipathi airs on Suvarna Channel at 8 PM from Monday to Thursday.
