This Saturday 'The Foodie' on Times Now, India's No. 1 English news channel, takes viewers on an incredible journey to an altitude of more than 8000 feet, to the Gureiz Valley at the Indo-Pak border in Kashmir. This weekend's Independence Day special episode will focus on the lives of the army, living and serving the country under extreme conditions.

Host Kunal Vijayakar will interact with the officer-in-charge at the post to learn about and understand the conditions of living on such terrain. The episode will begin with a tribute to Independence Day by showcasing a flag hoisting ceremony. 'The Foodie' will mingle with the army cook to better comprehend the magnanimous task of cooking for the Jawans and get a flavor of their daily lives, by being included in celebratory activities such as singing, dancing and a group bon fire. The show will also highlight two very special Independence Day dishes that will be served to the Jawans at their mess.

With this episode, 'The Foodie' is the first of its kind food-cum-travel show that explores unique concepts and delicious food along with different destinations. Having begun its journey six years the show has been a true guide for all food and travel enthusiasts. From cooking in the backwaters of Kerala, to scouting for food in the deserts of Rajasthan and eating at a traditional wedding in Kolkata, each episode of 'The Foodie' has been a new discovery and exploration of different cuisines and cultures.

Having completed over 300 episodes, Times Now's show 'The Foodie' is the only show that showcases a new eatery every time, highlighting the diverse food cultures from all over the country along with exploring International destinations.
