India’s favourite lifestyle channel, TLC presents an all new season of the world famous award-winning series “CHEESE SLICES.” The series provides a unique glimpse into the skills and traditions responsible for the wonderful variety of cheese in the world today. Author and Master of Cheese Will Studd travels through some of world's most beautiful countryside, to look at a diverse variety, of authentic regional cheeses.

Cheese Slices will premiere on September 20, 2012 and will be aired on every Thursday at 10:30pm only on TLC.
Cheesemaking is an exemplary art that is appreciated and savoured the world over. TLC’s CHEESE SLICES explores the fascinating stories of distinctive flavours, textures and aromas of cheese. The series will excite the viewers to eat, travel, learn, and help choose the best cheese to keep the revolution going.

Increasing curiosity in how cheese is made, and where it comes from, is encouraging an exciting global resurgence in artisanal cheese-making. Will Studd traces down the origins, production and development, changing trends, varying taste and accompaniments in the world of cheese in CHEESE SLICES.
Program Description
Episode 1:
Will Studd travels to Norway to learn rare traditional cheeses, which date back to Viking times. Traditional cheese making here once required two farms a summer mountain farm, called Saeter for grazing between June to September. And a winter farm near the coast for the rest of the year where animals could be safely housed during the long cold winter months.
Episode 2:
Will Studd travels to island in the Mediterranean which has a long history of cheese making dating back thousands of years. The cheeses here have been influenced by the Greeks, the Romans, the Arabs, the Normans, the Spanish, and today they're Italian. Cheese making here dates back to when the island was ruled by the ancient Greeks. These cheeses are collective known as Pecorino Siciliana. One of the surprising things about the pecorino made here is the different flavorings. You find cheeses made with pepper and chili quite commonly but they also use basil, saffron, sometimes they use pistachio nuts
Episode 3:
Next, Will Studd travels to Denmark. Denmark is the smallest nation in Scandinavia, and home to the oldest monarchy in western Europe. Will Studd does a tour of dairy and explore the minute details about cheese.
Episode 4:
In the last episode, Will Studd travels to Scotland to explore the origins of traditional Scottish cheese. The most conducive region in Scotland for producing cheese, is the green fertile valleys of the Southern Uplands. It talks about and an unusual chieftain's cheese called caboc.
