94.3 MY FM is celebrating Ganesha Chaturthi by bringing On Air the complete Ashtavinayaka Yatra spread across 8 temples for its listeners across the 17 cities. There are 8 very famous Hindu temples in Maharashtra and it is believed that completing the Yatra of all of these temples brings prosperity. To add to the festivities every day one story of the particular Ganesh mandir that is being visited and its importance along with its history will be shared on air with the listeners. This will be broadcasted during the morning show MY Aradhana (6-7 am) and repeat broadcast at 4-5pm.

Ashtavinayaka literally means "Eight Ganesha" in Sanskrit. Ashtavinayaka Yatra refers to a pilgrimage to the eight Hindu temples in Maharashtra that houses eight distinct idols of Ganesha in a pre- ascertained sequence. Each of these temples has its own individual legend and history, as distinct from each other as the murtis in each temple. The form of each murti of Ganesha and his trunk are distinct from one another.

Commenting on the activity Mr Harrish M Bhatia said “Our country is an amalgamation of diverse cultures and each culture has its own vibrant mix of festivals, in our endeavor to bring out the best content for our listeners and keeping in line with our motto of being the local FM channel of the country we will be celebrating the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi with great aplomb and have come up with a unique concept where our teams will undertake the Yatra and it will be broadcasted live on Air so that the listeners can enjoy and participate in the festivities as actively as the devotees present at these temples. ”
