Nickelodeon India launches first of its kind 'Nickworld App'

Viacom18 Media Pvt. Ltd. is all set to extend the digital offerings of its kids’ cluster, Nickelodeon India, by taking its success beyond television to lead the kids’ entertainment digitally. Having launched some immensely popular and interactive applications like Playtime with Dora – The Explorer and TeenNick Dreamstar Stardom Saga (available on iOS and Android) in the past, Nickelodeon India is all set to bring the best of shows from its channels, Nick, Sonic and Nick Jr. / Teen Nick to digital platforms. Becoming the first Indian kids’ broadcaster to do so, it has recently launched the “Nickworld App” on Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android, the two leading operating systems on mobiles and tablets in India.

The app is visually simple and allows kids to surf content on their own. Further, keeping the online safety as precedence, the app refrains from any social connect like Facebook or Twitter. The app also locks the screen once the video of an episode starts, thereby making it easy for parents to leave their device behind with kids without any worry. In order to ensure maximum reach, the app is built with such technology that lets users watch the videos on a low bandwidth and not having to use 3G or wi-fi connection specifically.

The app is available on the Android platform for free and with a small fee of Rs. 55/- only on iOS for an ad-free experience. Once downloaded, users can catch full-length episodes of all the popular international and local shows like SpongeBob SquarePants, Kung Fu Panda, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dora – The Explorer, Motu Patlu, Pakdam Pakdai, Keymon Ache, etc. on their fingertips.
