“The city of joy” became “The city of love” as Zee Bangla organized their one-of-a-kind Love Mela on the 9th of February, 2014 at City Centre, Salt Lake.
A fair dedicated solely to lovers, this mela had everone in a tizzy with its unique couple games, rock band performances and other starry attractions.The main objective was to convert viewers from on ground to television and to sample the channel to new viewers.
The Unique Number Contest happened through a unique coupon given to every participant on 9th Febraury’14. Each coupon had a unique number and lucky numbers were flashed on Zee Bangla Cinema channel during Valentine’s week. Lucky winners won the grand prize of a helicopter ride with the star cast of Obhishopto Nighty on 21st February, ZEE Bangla Cinema kept up to its promise of making people’s life Superhit.
This Love Mela was a grand celebration of love for which a 360 degree media promotion approach was taken. 50 human branding promoters were seen spread across the city, along with press ads in major dailies (Ei Samay, The Telegraph), Radio Jingles spread the word about this event creating a major hype. The message was also spread across through social media, apart from daily post promoting the event, there was also a separate event page which received huge response Zee Bangla Cinema going by their usual expertise in making every event starry and 'Superhit' cast their magic this time round as well. For the entire month there were Aston bands on major channel promoting this event.
The Love Mela was packed with exciting couples games, adda, music that were not only fun but high on the love quotient as well, bringing every couple closer in the most fascinating way. Every stall was custom designed with lovey-dovey names, the decorations and the arrangements were all moist with love as well. There games like Hug the Ball, Snakes and Ladders, Ring the Star, Find the Ring and special photo stalls for the couple where they got an opportunity to shoot sitting on a Royal Enfield to revisit the famous scene of Uttam kumar and Suchitra Sen riding on a bike . But the biggest entertainment were Kolkata bands like Cactus and Anupam Roy playing live at the venue and the Grand Superhit prize of a helicopter ride with the star cast of Abhishopto Nighty for the winners of the Unique Number contest.
In addition to this there were exciting prizes, the viewers had to answer questions about the 9pm movies during the valentine's week
This generated and converted viewership picking up target audience from the grounds of Love Mela itself .
As a result, the viewership rocketed instantly and almost 40,000 people witnessed Love Mela , making Love Mela a Superhit affair. Zee Bangla Cinema shone bright with their 'Superhit' power making this gala Love Mela grand and successful.
