The countdown for the much awaited heroic series is all set to begin. After a string of eight heart-thumping seasons, Jack Bauer, the rogue counterterrorism agent is back with a limited 12 episode series 24: Live Another Day. The 24 fan club in India now have a reason to celebrate as AXN has set the premier of this 73 Emmy-Award-nominations show for 9th May, 2014, a mere 4 days after its US premiere.
Retaining the real-time, nail-biting, fast-paced format with split screens and interweaving storylines, the highly-anticipated series also stars Kim Raver and William Devane reprising their original roles. Newcomers to the series include Yvonne Strahovsk of the Grey’s Anatomy fame, Law & Oder’s Benjamin Bratt, American actor & director Tate Donovan, British actor Giles Matthey, Gbenga Akinnagbe from The Wire and Canadian actor Michael Wincott.
While Mary Lynn Rajskub is back as a darker and Goth-inspired Chloe O'Brian, Anil Kapoor, who starred in the Indian adaptation of 24, will not be essaying the role of Kamistan President Omar Hassan as rumored earlier.
The double bill opening starts with former counter-terrorism agent Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) as a fugitive from the US government who’d been “off the grid” for 4 years but suddenly resurfaces in east London to save the world. The suspenseful event series once again will follow the exploits of heroic Jack Bauer, as he attempts to thwart an unthinkable terrorist attack that could change the world forever. You will soon be flung headlong into 24 territory: a dizzying conspiracy plot involving military drones, convoys in Afghanistan, a Presidential assassination attempt and the growing threat from China.http://apiservices.krxd.net/um?partner=vdna&r=http%3A%2F%2Fe.visualdna.com%2Fconversion&_kdpid=8f95f20d-4acf-43fc-9832-3f5174a166cc
For Jack Bauer, 24 hours is only just enough time to save the world from disaster. But even he might blanch at the value set on just 30 seconds for the new season of the cult series. The international debut of the show will reportedly charge advertisers up to half a million dollars for a 30-second advert. This leaves us with the question, will the show also change the face of advertising and marketing in India?
The iconic clock resets when 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY premieres with a special two-hour television event on 9th May at 10 pm on AXN India
