Asianet Television Awards 2014 were distributed in a glittering function held recently at marine Beach ground,Kozhikode. 10,000 odd people witnessed the show. Several prominent persons from the film industry and socio-cultural spheres were present on the occasion.

Director Ranjith presented the Asianet Life time Achievement Award to the veteran actress Valsala Menon for her outstanding contributions to Television Industry.

The event was attended by a cross section of stars from South Indian film/television industry and had colourful programmes performed by leading Malayalam artistes along with a mix of stars from tollywood & bollywood. Dilip, Vineeth, Kalabhavan Shajon, Tini Ton, Kailash, Director Ranjith & V.M.Vinu , Producer P.V.Gangadharan, Rohini, Aparna Gopinath, Shamna Khasim, Biyon, Dinesh Panicker are some of the personalities who attend the function.

'Parasparam " won the award for the bes tserial, which was accepted by its producer Jayakumar and Harison won the award for the best director for the Serial 'Balaganapathi'.

Vivek Gopan won the best actor award for his role in 'Parasparam' and Rekha Ratheesh the best female actress for the serial 'Parasparam'. Actor Sarath Dasj and actress Divya was on hand to collect the popular awards for their outstanding performance in serial 'Amma' and 'Sthreedhanam' respectively.

'Amma' won the best entertainer of year award and 'Sthreedhanam' won the popular serial award, which was accepted by its producer Ramesh Babu.

Others who won awards include Pradeep Panicker (Script Writer), Pradeep Kottayam (Best Character actor - male), Roopa Sree (Best Character artiste - female), Shobi Thilakan (Negative Character – male), Kanya (Negative character – female), debut artistes Pradeesh Nanda and Gayathri, dubbing artistes Sankar Lal and Nidhuna, S.V.Gopalakrishnan (Back ground score), Rajesh (Editor), sreejith (Sound mixing), Manoj Kumar (Camera), child artistes Sidharth, Biswas, Niranjana, Sebin and Adhithyan, special jury awards Chithra Shenoy, Pratheeksha, Sneha, Shalu Kuriyan, Niya & Meghna.

Other film / television stars such as Isha Talwar, Asha sarath, Suja naidu, Iniya, Nadasha, Nach Baliye fame Vinod and Ruksha, Raymound Layola dance team, Mahalakshmi, Sini Varghese, Adarsh, Aneesh Rehman, Rajesh Hebbar, Swathy, Asianet Dance dance team, Acrobatic dance team and other comedy artistes from Film industry - Ramesh Pisharady, Dharmajan, Shaju and other leading comedy artistes & other performance entertained the viewers numbering in thousands.
