Radio Mango Hero Maestro Edge Kerala Xpress 2 powered by Malabar Cements” - The initiative by Radio Mango in association with Kerala Cricket Association & MRF Pace Foundation travelled across the nook and corner of Kerala to hunt for the fastest bowler under 21 years, who has the potential and who can be further groomed at the Mecca of pace bowling – MRF Pace foundation.
The month long initiative was launched by Tinu Youhanan, with a felicitation acknowledging the man - the first fast bowler from Kerala Ranji team to play in all the 3 formats of cricket and who made all malayalis believe that talent can take them to national team! The selections were conducted in 3 stages; the preliminary selections by KCA coaches were done across 60 colleges and open locations, shortlisting 200 probables, who went for Regional Selections at KCA facilities in Ernakulam, Alapuzha & Thalassery.
The final selections were conducted at St.pauls college, Ernakulam and from a pool of 45 finalists, 3 winners were selected by an eminent panel comprising of Dav Whatmore – Coach, Kerala Cricket Team, M.Senthilnathan – chief coach MRF Pace foundation, Tinu youhanan – Director, Center of Excellence - KCA, Sasidharan Panicker, Chief Coach – KCA & K.A. Sunil - Ex Kerala state Ranji player.
The talent hunt culminated with 3 talented youngsters KV Shreyas, KS Vivek & Harikrishnan who will be heading to MRF pace foundation for an all expense paid training. Each of the winners and a runner up were gifted a Hero Maestro Edge scooter.
