New Update

Media Release, March 3

MUMBAI

It is rightly said that ‘When opportunity knocks your door, it knocks big time’. This quote will hold true for each of the contestant who have participated in the preliminary and studio round of Radio Mirchi RJ Hunt this year. Out of the huge 15,000 entries received, 200 gifted and fortunate contestants entered into the studio round. While lady luck would have been in favour of the 10 contestants who managed to enter the third round, there is certainly going to be disappointment and heart break for the others who did not make it.

Radio Mirchi’s RJ Hunt enters into the third round of auditions from February 28, 2006 to March 6, 2006 called the ‘Listeners Choice’ round. The 10 chosen contestants will go on air, entertain their listeners and showcase their communication skills. The listeners can thereby vote for their favourite voice by sending in their sms to 8888. The criteria of selection will be their voice quality, command on language and of course, connectivity with the listeners.

On the basis of the listener’s choice, 5 contestants would be selected for the grand finale. The finals would be held under an eminent jury on March 7, 2006. The chosen one wins a lifetime possibility of becoming a radio jockey with Radio Mirchi.

Radio Mirchi has tasted tremendous success in the last two years with its RJ Hunt contest. Besides providing entertainment to its listeners, Mirchi has absorbed these talented RJ Hunt winners into the radio station and have groomed them. RJ Harsh of the morning show ‘Hello Mumbai’ won the contest in its very first year (2003) where as RJ Rohit who hosts the Sunday shows “Style Bhai” and “You & I “ won the title last year (2005) in Mumbai. The contest has also been a great success in the other cities -New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Pune, Indore, Kolkata and Chennai.
