This July, all animation fans will experience Animax all grown up! Animax premieres four blockbuster animation series that are more youth & young adult focused, Animax is punching into a different market segment to better attract the 15 to 24 years old!

Animax premieres the hit action series about Full Metal Alchemist & as well as the series about the teenage Ghostfighter with supernatural powers on the 26th of July, followed by the award winning Animax series , Count of Monte Cristo , the futuristic adaptation of the Alexandre Dumas’ classic and Samurai 7 , the adaptation of the immortal classic Seven Samurai.

GHOSTFIGHTER – Wednesdays, 7:00 p. m

Fourteen-year-old Yusuke Urameshi is every teacher’s nightmare. He does badly in school, skips classes often, and always argues with his teachers. On top of that, he is also the undisputed brawler around, who is good at nothing but picking fights with rival Kuwabara.

However, Yusuke’s life is forever changed one day when he sacrifices himself to save a young boy from getting hit by a car. Impressed by Yusuke’s selflessness, Koenma, the 700-year-old ruler of the Spirit World, restores him back to life and appoints him as “Spirit Detective”.

FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST – Wednesdays, 7:30 p. m

THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO – Fridays, 11:00 p.m

Tired of his boring life in Paris, Albert de Morcerf, the son of a wealthy aristocrat, decides to journey to the moon with his friend Franz.

While enjoying the carnival in the moon city of Luna, Albert meets a rich and powerful man whom the locals refer to as the Count of Monte Cristo. Living in luxurious hotels, surrounded by beautiful women and bodyguards, the Count easily fascinates the impressionable youth with his enigmatic charm.

Before leaving for home, Albert promises to introduce the Count to the Parisian high society. However, unknown to him, his father once framed the Count out of jealousy and took his fiancee as his own. And now, Albert's world is about to be shattered, as the Count of Monte Cristo returns to wreak vengeance on those who had betrayed him to his doom….

SAMURAI 7 – Fridays, 11:30 p.m

Based on Akira Kurosawa’s immortal classic, Seven Samurai, is the anime, Samurai 7, produced by renowned studio, Gonzo. Samurai 7 is a brand new adaptation set in a world where powerful samurais with swords clash with huge and monstrous robots.

In Samurai 7, the age of the samurai lords has ended and their protracted and brutal war has drawn to a close. As society teeters on the brink of change, a new age of lawlessness now sweeps across the land.

Deep in the mountains, the farmers of Kanna village expect a good harvest, but they know the fearsome raiders called Nobuseri are on their way. These raiders are samurai who have abandoned their honour for greed and power. In desperation, the village chief sends a young shrine maiden, Kirara, her sister, Komachi, and a young man Rikichi, beyond their village to seek help.

Seven wandering warriors brought together by an unwavering devotion to the ancient samurai code, answer to their pleas, and face off with the Nobuseri armies. The final and most incredible battle in their time is about to commence when Nobuseri armies converge on the village.
