Vijay TV set to launch first celebrity couple dance show

NEW DELHI, September 14

Vijay TV is all set to launch Jodi No.1 – the first celebrity couple dance show on the lines of the popular STAR One show Nach Baliye. Vijay TV in its continuous endeavor to provide differentiated content has roped in 8 celebrity couples who are very popular among the Tamil audiences and also choreographers who have a vast experience in performing various forms of dance.

There will be both reality and studio episodes on this show. The reality episodes will capture the candid moments during the rehearsals , the hard work , the emotions which the couple undergo in their quest to become Jodi No.1.The studio episodes will be the performance episodes on the set where the celebrity showcase their dancing talents in front of the judges .They would be tested in various dance styles , folk , western , freestyle etc .They would dance to the tunes of famous Tamil numbers from a Yaaradi Nee Mohini to a Illamai Idho Idho to an Appadi Podu .Costumes to match add glitter and glamour to the show.

Vijay TV has roped in 4 real life couples and 4 reel life couples who have won the hearts of the Tamil audience with their acting skills are all set to don a different role and create magic with Jodi No 1. The introductory episode of the show will witness the performance of all the pairs. Each pair would be assisted by a dedicated choreographer .Every week one couple gets eliminated. As we reach the grand finale with the final 2 teams ready to battle .There would be a wildcard round in the 7th episode, which would provide an opportunity to one of the eliminated couples to have a look in again.The wildcard winner would then compete with the final shortlisted couples for the coveted Jodi No.1 Title. Interesting themes have been planned for the couples to perform.

The four real life couples are:

Devadarshini & Chetan:

Chetan and Devadarshini; a lively ON SCREEN and OFF SCREEN couple.

Two of the most sought after small screen artistes. They came together for the first time on K Balachander’s Marma desam.

Chetan starred in Enn Thozhi Enn Kadhali En Manaivi on VIJAY and Devadarshini is currently starring in VIJAY’s Kannadi Kathavugal.

Rashna & Vijay Adhiraj:

Vijay Adhiraj, the most popular star of the small screen industry. Has acted in many top rated serials on Tamil television and has also hosted many popular game shows

Rashna, a dancer has also done a couple of commercials.

Latha Rao & Rajkamal:

Latha Rao & Rajkamal; a dynamic couple.

She is a popular star on shows like Kannadi Kathavugal on VIJAY; and top serials across channels.

This new generation couple have an exciting view about life.

Preetha & Raghav:

Preetha,a popular TV artist has acted in many popular serials and hosted format shows, was launched by K.Balachander.

Raghav, a renowned music composer, singer and has hosted many music shows. Proven his versatility by donning the role of an actor as well.

The 4 reel life couples are:

Shilpa & Bharat Kalyan:

Shilpa, from heroine to the vamp she has done it all on the small screen.

Bharat Kalyan, a very happening actor; currently stars in the top rated serial, Selvi.

Kutty Pooja & Prem:

Kutty Pooja, who has done some demanding roles, is already an artiste of repute at this young age. Has paired opposite Prem in a top notch serial.

Prem, played one of the key roles in VIJAY’s Aasai, is a popular hero in Tamil serials.

Pooja & Rishi:

Pooja, popular small screen artiste known to play the role of the antagonist in most shows; known for her great dancing skills.

Rishi paired opposite Pooja in Kannadi Kathavugal on VIJAY; He is also known for his sinister roles in many popular serials.

Tharika & Deepak:

Tharika of Kavyanjali fame is a popular glamour artiste in the tinsel town too.

Deepak of Manaivi fame,has acted in leading roles in many serials. This busy artiste is a good dancer as well.

This show would be a landmark show on Tamil Television considering the sea change the
