Radio One continues its string of improvised programming post Malamaal Daily with the country's biggest Bollywood challenge. Bollywood Badshah, India's biggest quiz contest has begun on Radio One FM 92.5, Mumbai's No.1 Hit Music Radio Station. "Bollywood Badshah is truly the definitive Bollywood quiz in the nation today. It was designed, packaged and produced for Radio. It is challenging, interesting and obviously very Bollywood and goes with the Radio One philosophy of celebrating the hits", says Vishnu Athreya V.P. Programming and Brand. Consumer and advertiser interests are huge for Bollywood Badshah because of its previous popularity. The channel has roped Sahara Filmy, Ruffles Lays, Shoppers Stop, Sony Handycam as sponsors of the show that will last for 8 weeks. Radio One has opted for popular TV personality Gaurav Kapoor to be the host this year as well. "Gaurav is the perfect host for Bollywood Badshah. He is young, extremely talented, and filmy, completely fitting the shows personailty and we are sure he will entertain the listener and participants alike.", says Athreya.
"Post the success of Malamaal Daily, we are hopeful to see huge participation in a programming promotion as such, especially since Bollywood is such an integral part of our listeners' lives." opines Shariq Patel, V.P. Operations, Radio One. The entry forms are available in all leading newspapers or just log on to the station's website www.radioone.in. You can even use your mobile phone - just SMS 'BB' to 3650 - and get all the terms & conditions. This year the prizes seem to be big as well. Not only do the participants win something, the semi finalists get to take home loads of prizes (a TV, a fridge and more!) and the winner gets to go home with something real big that may include a Trip for two to a choice of their destination.
Not for the faint hearted participants have to go through a written test to qualify for this challenge! This year, however Radio One FM 92.5 might allow wildcard entries!
