Watermelon wins Sheaffer pens & RMZ Corp biz

Watermelon is a Bangalore-based creative boutique that was launched by advertising professionals Smita Jalan and Sampat Kumar

Bangalore-based creative shop Watermelon has bagged two businesses – well-known premium pen brand Sheaffer and RMZ Corp, which is among the largest providers of work spaces for MNCs in India.

While both the accounts were won in a direct pitch, the RMZ Corp account has moved from JWT. As for Sheaffer, its communication related work was being handled internally as the brand was launched in India just a year ago.

RMZ Corp works for clients such as Google, Philips, Mphasis, Aviva, HSBC and Standard Chartered. But few are aware of the company. Thus, the primary task for the agency is to create awareness about the corporation among the general public and prospective clients.

“Our mandate is to communicate the core philosophy of the company and to make people aware of the goodwill that the company has generated among world corporations with their quality and reliability,” explains Sampat Kumar, creative director, Watermelon.

With regard to Sheaffer pens, Kumar says, “Sheaffer is one of the oldest luxury pen brands in the world. Many inventions in pen technology can be traced back to this brand. Watermelon will seek to make people understand the history and heritage of this great brand.”

Watermelon has been in the business of advertising since 1998. The agency has been promoted by Smita Jalan and Sampat Kumar, who between themselves have over 25 years of experience in various national advertising agencies.

Watermelon’s sole focus is on providing "great" creative solutions for the advertising problem. Some of the accounts that Watermelon has worked on include The Times Of India (Bangalore), Platinum, FTV, Imperial Clothing Co., BPL US West, The K. Raheja Group, Euclid Networks, Blue Star, Rugs & Riches and Voice Reach. © 2005 agencyfaqs!
