MMTC calls for creative pitch

Sources say, agencies involved in the creative pitch include Lowe, JWT, McCann-Erickson, O&M, Grey, Capital, Rediffusion and Leo Burnett

Public sector unit, Metals and Minerals Trading Corporation (MMTC), which is in the minerals trade and is the single exporter of minerals from India, has called some eight agencies for a creative pitch.

MMTC, established in 1963, is one of the two highest foreign exchange earners for India and is counted among the leading international trading companies in its genre. It has a turnover of over $3 billion.

According to sources, the agencies that are involved in the creative pitch include Lowe, JWT, McCann-Erickson, O&M, Grey, Capital, Rediffusion and Leo Burnett.

As per industry estimates, the size of the business is substantial and is estimated to be around Rs 12-15 crore. The selected agencies will be responsible for producing the literature, brochure, and a website for the PSU.

Sources say, the pitch process has been on for two months now. The first round of presentations was held in June.

MMTC will empanel four agencies and the final decision is expected by September, sources add.

MMTC has a vast international trade network, which includes a wholly owned subsidiary in Singapore. Its operations span across Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas, giving MMTC a global market coverage.

MMTC has been the recipient of the export award from the Chemicals and Allied Products Export Promotion Council (CAPEXIL) as the largest exporter of minerals from India for the thirteenth year in a row.
