Prasoon Joshi to be a judge at the D&AD Global Awards 2006

The judging process will take place between April 3 and 5 next year in London

Prasoon Joshi, regional creative director for South and South East Asia, McCann-Erickson, has been invited to the prestigious D&AD Global Awards 2006 as a jury member for the Press Advertising category. The awards, popularly known as the Yellow Pencils (the silver awards are called the Yellow Pencils and the gold awards, the Black Pencils), are among the most respected and prestigious creative awards in the design and advertising industry.

Joshi will be heading to London in the first week of April 2006. The judging process will take place at the famous ExCel exhibition and conference centre there. Confirming the news to agencyfaqs!, Joshi said, “It is an honour for any creative person to be invited as a jury member to the D&AD Awards. We have always looked up to the work that they award every year. It will indeed be a great learning experience for me as I’ll get a chance to interact with the best in global advertising.”

Incidentally, not very long ago, another Indian creative stalwart, Elsie Nanji, vice-chairman and chief creative officer, Ambience D’Arcy, was invited on the jury for the 2002 awards.

Founded in 1962, D&AD is a UK-based educational charity that works on behalf of international design and advertising communities. The D&AD Awards span 30 different categories, encompassing all aspects of creative communication from writing and art direction to architecture, graphic design, music videos and photography.
