Ravi Raghavendra joins Contract, Bangalore, as creative director

Raghavendra has moved from DDB, Dubai

Ravi Raghavendra, associate creative director, DDB, Dubai, has ended his three-year association with the agency and joined Contract, Bangalore, as creative director.

Raghavendra says, “For a long time, I wanted to come back to India. There are rapid changes taking place in India as far as advertising is concerned. I wanted to be in the scheme of things and I found that opportunity with Contract.”

Raghavendra will be working on brands such as Himalaya, Louis Philippe, Shell and Carbon jewellery.

Talking about Raghavendra’s induction, Dipak Marwah, senior vice-president, Contract, Bangalore, says, “Raghavendra brings along with him the rich experience of having worked on a diverse set of brands. I believe that he has the right balance between creativity and brand building.”

A chemistry graduate, Raghavendra has spent 12 years in advertising. He started his career with RK Swamy/BBDO in 1993. After a year there, he moved on to Grey Worldwide (then Trikaya Grey) and spent around three years there. He then shifted to Contract, Mumbai, where he spent around four years, after which he did a short stint at the erstwhile Lemon Communications. Raghavendra’s last job was with DDB.

In his career in advertising, Raghavendra has worked on various brands, including Sony, Bajaj, Pantene, Parachute, Denim, Sweekar, Cadbury, Levi’s Live-In, Vanity Fair, Giordano and Volkswagen.

He has been honoured with the Abby Gold twice, once for his work on the Bajaj ‘World Cup 1999’ campaign and again as a part of the creative team for Cadbury’s Picnic. He has been felicitated twice with the London International Advertising Finalist Award for his work for Volkswagen.
