Delhi’s advertising agencies are undergoing quite a bit of upheaval in their creative departments. agencyfaqs! had recently reported that Amardeep Singh was moving from Contract to Dentsu Communication. Now, Vineet Mahajan, creative consultant, McCann-Erickson, is moving to Contract as creative director.

Confirming his move, Mahajan says, “Contract is revamping its entire creative space and in a few months’ time, it will be an agency to look at. I am glad to be a part of a team that has creative leaders such as Ravi Deshpande and Ashish Chakravarty.”

Mahajan has won accolades and awards for many of his efforts. He got Delhi its first Gold Lion from Cannes in 2003, when he teamed up with Rahul Johri for the ‘Businessworld’ mailer. He won two bronzes for the Hutch ‘Blurb’ public service campaign, for which he worked as a team with Radhika Singh. Also in his bag are a CAG Silver and two One Show nominations.

Mahajan’s work has been printed twice in ‘Archives’. His work on Hutch was featured in the ‘Communication Arts Design Annual’ in 2004. Mahajan has worked on the accounts of LG IT, Dabur Chavanprash, Virgin Atlantic, Perfetti, Monster.com and Bacardi. He worked with Ogilvy & Mather before moving to McCann-Erickson.

Commenting on Mahajan’s appointment, Ashish Chakravarty, creative head, Contract, Delhi, says, “We are looking at upping the level of creativity at Contract and looking at making Delhi a creative force to reckon with. Mahajan’s coming on board is a step forward in the right direction.”

In his effort to upgrade creativity at Contract, Chakravarty has made three new appointments during September-October. Kapil Batra and Navjyoti Pegu have joined as senior writers and Rashmi Yadav as creative, group head.

Meanwhile, Mayur Hola of Grey Worldwide will join McCann-Erickson as a group head in the first week of November. At McCann-Erickson, he will handle the accounts of General Motors, Coca-Cola, Dabur and Nescafe, among others.

Confirming his move, Hola says, “This is a move up the ladder for me and I am looking forward to playing a bigger role and doing lots of film work, for which McCann is well known.”

Hola has earlier worked as part of a team on brands such as Samsung, BSNL, Incredible India Tourism, Dabur, NIIT and Domino’s Pizza.
