Soumitra Sen joins Mudra Brand Therapist as president

Sen’s last stint was with Contract Healthcare as vice president

Soumitra Sen, vice-president, Contract Healthcare, has joined Mudra Brand Therapist as president.

Confirming this development to agencyfaqs!, Madhukar Kamath, managing director and CEO, Mudra says, “Sen brings with him a whole array of industry and business knowledge that will assist in redefining the position of Brand Therapist in the market. With his strong credentials and rich expertise, he is a valuable addition to the Mudra family.”

A post-graduate from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani in bio-science, and an MBA from Indore University, Sen began his career in 1986 in the pharma industry.

After working for companies such as Torrent, Cadilla and Helios for six years, he moved to Mumbai from Ahmedabad, where he joined daCunha Communications as assistant general manager. From there he moved on to work for various agencies such as IB&W, Madison DMB&B and Euro RSCG. His last stint was with Contract as vice-president, where he served four years.

Sen has had hands on experience with brands such as McDowells, Videocon, Toshiba, Samsonite, Leela Group, Cinthol and Godrej Soaps, Equal, USV, Gelusil, Waterburys, (Pfizer), Anacin, Himalaya Drugs, Astra Zeneca, Lifecell, Dr. Reddy’s Lab, Organon and Shreya Pharma.

Talking about his new role, an enthused Sen says, “As far as business is concerned, I personally do not find any difference between FMCG and healthcare products. The pressure is on ideas in both the sectors. Healthcare, like any other sector, is a specialised vertical. In my view, the healthcare sector is poised for dramatic changes with lifestyle marketing converging with fitness as well as the increasing corporatisation of hospitals and growth of insurance contributing to huge growth and development in this sector in the coming years.”
