Mudra South shines bright at international awards

The agency’s creatives have been nominated both at the Times Asia Pacific Advertising Awards and the New York Festivals

Mudra South seems to be on a roll. Its creatives have been nominated for both the Times Asia Pacific Advertising Awards and the New York Festivals. The Asia Pacific Advertising Awards ceremony will be held in Taiwan in early 2006, while the New York Festivals ceremony will be held on January 26, 2006, at the Hudson Theatre, Manhattan.

Madhukar Kamath, managing director and CEO, Mudra, says, “A lot of emphasis was laid on good quality work from Mudra South; this helped us make a mark. Receiving international recognition increases our motivation to deliver better work.”

The 16th Times Asia Pacific Advertising Awards short-listed only three entries from India; interestingly, all three are from Mudra South – ‘Nutrine Kokanaka’, ‘Blossoms’ and ‘Monster’. The first two have been nominated in the print category, while the third belongs to the television segment.

‘Monster’ has also been short-listed for the New York Festivals 2006 – Television, Cinema & Radio Advertising Awards in two categories: business services/ equipment and e-commerce service.

The Times Asia Pacific Advertising Awards has short-listed entries from various other countries such as Taiwan (168), Japan (60), China (55), Hong Kong (26), Korea (18), Indonesia (10), Malaysia (2), the Philippines (2) and Thailand (1).

For the record, The Times Asia-Pacific Advertising Awards was first held in 1990 by the China Times Group with the objective of broadening Taiwan’s ad horizons and fulfilling a corporate vision.
