Innocean’s Saurabh Dasgupta to judge 2006 Summit Creative Awards

Dasgupta will serve as a judge for the broadcast category

Saurabh Dasgupta, the creative team head of Innocean, will judge the ‘Broadcast’ category of the Summit Creative Awards. The awards celebrate the creative excellence of small and medium sized marketing communications companies throughout the world.

Confirming the news, Dasgupta says, “I see this as an opportunity in which I will get to witness work from across the world and from agencies and clients that are slightly smaller in size. It will be an experience to see how people communicate effectively within the parameters of a small agency.”

He adds, “These are awards that showcase how brilliant minds work within their restrictions. Many a time, smaller agencies and their works are overshadowed by agencies that are bigger in size and have clients that are equally big. The smaller agencies come out with brilliant creatives, where local relevance is very high, as their client list includes many local companies. This will definitely be a learning experience.”

As a member of the jury, Dasgupta will receive CDs, DVDs, score sheets and instructions and will judge remotely. The process will begin early March.

Dasgupta, who recently joined Hyundai’s creative agency, Innocean, has worked earlier with Mudra and Leo Burnett. He has worked for brands such as Coke, Airtel Magic, Priya Cinema, Dabur, HBO, Samsung and Electrolux.

The Electrolux sponsored ‘Save Water’ campaign, of which Dasgupta was a part when he was at Mudra, Delhi, won a silver at the AME (Advertising and Marketing Effectiveness) Awards at the New York Festivals 2005.

Interestingly, the Summit Creative Awards are open to advertising and public relations agencies; advertisers and in-house marketing departments; video production and multimedia firms; graphic and web designers, and other allied companies with annual billings of under $25 million.
