The agency is upbeat about its work, be it the Airtel ad or the radio spots for Indian Oil and GM Tavera

With the suspense coming to an end this evening, Rediffusion DY&R is upbeat about its entries for Abby 2006. Rahul Jauhari, group creative director, Rediffusion DY&R, says, “It would be unfair to point out entries that we think have a fair chance of winning as all the works that have been entered are praiseworthy.”

In the Radio category, there is an entry for Indian Oil, ‘Pick Up’. In this radio spot, people were asked about what they meant by ‘Pick Up’. Surprisingly, each one had a different interpretation. This was because they hadn’t experienced the real ‘pick up’ that Indian Oil promises.

The other radio spot that has made an entry to the Abby’s is ‘Echo’ for GM Tavera. The spot is meant to convey the message that the Tavera is spacious. And this is depicted through echoes inside the car, which signifies the ample space it offers.

Jauhari says that in the Outdoor category, the agency has entered its ad for Delhi’s PVR Cinema, which specifically promoted the movie, ‘King Kong’. The ad is titled ‘Banana Peel Mountain’. Rediffusion has also entered the direct mailer it created for ING Vysya.

In the Print category, there is an entry for Magic Salon Makeovers and another for Eveready Battery, which focuses on the battery’s longevity.

In the TVC category, Jauhari says that there is a campaign for Airtel’s ‘Rs 200 Recharge Coupon Campaign’, which features a paanwala and a barber. The focus is on the mobile phone going beyond the economic divide and being within the reach of most people. There is also the corporate campaign for Airtel Express Yourself, ‘Dil ki Baat Batakar to Dekho’. The TVC aimed at establishing an emotional connect with the masses. The power-packed lines, delivered in Hindi, ask people to open up and express themselves freely, setting aside all inhibitions, disregarding all so-called societal norms.

The other entries in the TVC category are ‘Nothing but the Truth’ for Onida and an ad for Sugarfree.
