The WPP Group has ranked O&M, Mumbai, as the ‘Office of the Year’ for 2006. The ranking system is three years old, and this is the first time that an Indian office among any WPP Group agency has been ranked as number one.

Work by O&M, Mumbai, will be showcased in the WPP Annual, which is a collection of the best creative work across the entire WPP network every year, including print ads, television commercials, branding and identity projects. This is done in the spirit of celebrating creative excellence.

Piyush Pandey, chairman and national creative director, O&M India, is quite enthused about the development. He says, “This is an excellent platform for agencies from the WPP family to showcase their creative work and also, raise their standards of creativity.”

He adds that this is especially an achievement, considering the number of WPP agencies and their respective offices all across the world, which compete for the same title. “This is a reflection of the width of our work which spreads across almost all our clients,” he adds.

The ‘Office of the Year’ title is judged by WPP’s worldwide creative director (Robyn Putter, this year), after the WPP Group agencies send in their best entries. The best of the lot are displayed in the WPP Annual.

WPP is a global communications network with over 2000 offices in 106 countries. It comprises agencies such as Ogilvy & Mather, JWT, Grey Worldwide, Y&R, Bates Enterprise, Contract, Everest and Red Cell, amongst others.
