Everest Brand Solutions ropes in MTV Networks’ Manav Malvai

While Malvai has joined as an associate creative director, Anupama Kulkarni and Pradeep Yeragi are to join as creative group heads

Manav Malvai, associate creative director in MTV Networks’ off-air promos department, has joined Everest Brand Solutions, Mumbai, as associate creative director. He will report to Prateek Bharadwaj and Cajetan Vaz.

Pradeep Yeragi, senior art director, O&M, and freelancer Anupama Kulkarni (who has worked with Bates Enterprise, Euro RSCG and Mudra in the past) will join Everest as creative group heads. The two will report to Malvai.

Malvai, who has been an adman all his career except for his MTV stint, says, “MTV is a very creative place to work. I was also doing the off-air promos for VH1. That was thrilling, but I missed working with several brands simultaneously.”

While at MTV, Malvai worked on the promos for the MTV IMMIES, MTV Youth Icon, Lycra MTV Style Awards, MTV’s soap, ‘Pyaar Vyaar and All That’, and the channel’s latest venture into films, ‘Ghoom’.

Malvai started his career as a copywriter with Rediffusion DY&R; he spent two years there, working on Tata Motors, Canon Office Solutions and the Taj Group of Hotels. He moved on to Enterprise Nexus, where he spent a year working on Usha, Sony Handicam and Daewoo Matiz. He went on to McCann-Erickson, where he worked on Fanta, Nescafe Sunrise and the launch of Bacardi Breezer. After that, he spent two years at O&M, working on LG Corporate.

Malvai left advertising to join MTV Networks around a year ago. At Everest, Malvai and his team will work on Parle G, Parle G Magix, Poppins, STAR One and Radio City.
