Anand Narasimha bids adieu to Saatchi & Saatchi

Narasimha was with Saatchi & Saatchi for more than three years. Prior to joining the Bangalore branch, he headed the agency’s Delhi branch, also as executive vice-president, for two and a half years

Anand Narasimha, executive vice-president, Saatchi & Saatchi, Bangalore, has put in his papers.

Narasimha took over as the head of the agency’s Bangalore branch just 10 months ago. Prior to that, he was with Saatchi & Saatchi, Delhi, which he headed as executive vice-president for two and a half years. In total, his stint with Saatchi & Saatchi lasted for around three years.

Narasimha now plans to pursue a career in a new and emerging area in the marketing and communication space. However, he declined to reveal any further details of his plans.

Narasimha says that although he enjoyed his stint with Saatchi & Saatchi, he had started feeling that the mainline advertising business had reached a saturation point in many respects, be it the number of players, the services offered by them or even the revenue margins.

He says, “Advertising is supposed to create differentiation for brands, but the scenario today has become much more commoditised. I am currently looking at the next level and will be reinventing myself by focusing on the fun, vibrant and upcoming areas in the marketing and communication space.”

During Narasimha’s stint in Saatchi & Saatchi, Delhi, the agency won a Bronze Lion at Cannes 2004 in the Film category for Sony Handicam.

Before joining Saatchi & Saatchi, Narasimha worked as head of brand marketing for BPL Ltd in Bangalore for five years. He started his career with JWT (then HTA), Delhi, in account planning and later joined Tara Sinha Associates (now McCann-Erickson), Delhi. After that he move to Enterprise (now Bates Enterprise) and later went on to become the general manager of the organisation.
